Which generator is suitable for concrete mixer?

Electric concrete mixer provides the power needed to perform mixing operations through electricity and requires a power connection.
As always, when it comes to the need for electricity, it is impossible for a generator not to be functional. Many construction workshops use generators to supply electricity to electric concrete due to the lack of proper power branches.
But the main question that prompted us to write the following note is what basically should be considered in choosing the right generator for concrete mixer?
The key to a good purchase is knowing the exact specifications of the concrete
In order to be able to buy a suitable generator for your concrete mixer, the first step is to accurately identify the concrete mixer specifications.
The specifications of the concrete mixer will usually be described by the sellers, but otherwise you may get detailed information about it by referring to the engine shell and body.
In general, the first step to buying a suitable generator for concrete mixer is to identify the properties of the concrete mixer. Two main features are very important:
Power consumption of concrete
It is single-phase or three-phase
In the following, you will realize the importance of these two features in having a good purchase. First, we look at the importance of single-phase or three-phase electricity.
Single-phase or three-phase?
After learning about the specifications of the concrete mixer, you will understand the type of branch required by the machine. If you need three-phase power, you obviously need a three-phase motor, and if you need single-phase power, you should buy a single-phase motor.
There is usually no significant price difference between a single-phase generator and a three-phase generator, but depending on the power required by the device, you will have to choose between the two.
Of course, it should be noted that according to experience, concrete mixers with a capacity of less than 400 liters of single-phase electricity and products with a volume higher than this amount usually need a three-phase generator.
Note that this is not certain and it is better to carefully and research on a particular model of concrete to decide whether to buy a single-phase generator or three-phase generator.
What determines the power output of a suitable generator for a concrete mixer?
The answer is obvious, the power consumption of concrete. Again, you have to determine the power consumption of the device by referring to the specifications of the concrete mixer.
Usually 400 liter concrete mixers have more than 5 to 6 kW, 250 liter concrete mixers to 2 to 3 kW and 120 liter light concrete mixers have less than 1.5 kW power consumption.
Of course, in this case, the consumption power of concrete should not be considered.
Note that, for example, when the power consumption of your concrete mixer is 5 kW, the device needs more than 6 to 7 kW of electricity to start and start working; generators always need more power at the moment of start-up than normal power consumption.
However, in order for the purchased generator not to shrink from this pressure and not to have problems, it is better to observe this level of reliability and buy a generator with more production capacity than the consumption power of concrete.
High fuel consumption and productivity
As can be seen in the previous section, the power consumption of concrete is very high, which is why you need a product with low fuel consumption and high productivity.
At high production capacities such as 7 or 8 kW, if a product with high efficiency and low fuel consumption is not used, in the long run, working with a generator is not cost-effective at all and has no economic justification.
So be sure to consider low fuel consumption as a key and basic factor in buying a suitable generator for concrete mixer.
Diesel generator is your priority
For various reasons, buying a diesel generator is a priority in purchasing a product that fits the concrete mixer. Diesel generator has many advantages, the main of which is lower cost.
Although it is not boring to cover all the benefits of a diesel generator and the reasons for its lower maintenance costs, with a quick calculation you will find out how economical it is for you to use diesel fuel compared to gasoline.
While a liter of free gasoline is bought for 3000 Tomans, the price of free diesel is 600 Tomans; this means that even if the consumption of diesel and gasoline is equal, by choosing the first option, you will still pay eighty percent less!
At the same time, diesel fuel consumption is always much lower than gasoline fuel due to the higher efficiency of the diesel generator.
High quality electrical panels and terminals
High power consumption of concrete means that this device operates at high voltage and amperage. Nevertheless, a suitable generator for concrete mixers must constantly withstand a high amount of voltage and current in the terminals and power outlets.
In this situation, the quality, quality of raw materials and proper design of the power output circuit is much more important than normal.
If the terminals are not in good condition, at this level of voltage and current, fire will occur quickly and there is even a risk of explosion of the generator.
Do not forget that safety is always the first priority in the workplace, and you should not risk your life and the lives of other operators by buying products that do not have quality terminals, switchboards and overall output circuits.
