What are the types of concrete cutting methods?

 

As you know, the use of concrete has increased due to its widespread use in construction and other industries. In many cases during construction operations it is necessary to cut the concrete used.

The reason for using concrete removers can be the presence of executive defects in concrete, changing the structural plan and repairing damaged concrete.

 

It may also be necessary to install parts inside the concrete. Cutting concrete is not an easy task due to its rigidity. Therefore, this can not be done manually. In this section, we want to introduce the methods that can be used to cut concrete and explain each.

 

The methods available for cutting concrete depend on many factors such as the type of concrete, the space available for cutting operations and the type of cutting.

 

Concrete cutting can be done in several ways, but here we introduce three practical methods and explain each one:

1. Cutting concrete using a concrete cutter

 

Concrete cutting using a concrete cutter is the most common method. This device is called an asphalt cutter. Because this device also plays the role of asphalt, and to change its use, it is enough to change the blade. In fact, this device has three uses:

2. Cutting concrete with water jet machine

 

This machine cuts all kinds of concrete and other materials such as metal, etc. easily and quickly with the help of very high water pressure. In this section, it is necessary to examine some of the advantages and disadvantages of this device:

 

    In concrete cutting with water jet machine, dirt work is minimized and the work is done cleanly.

    The use of this device minimizes various pollutants such as environmental and noise pollution.

    Also, the accuracy of this machine is much higher than other cutting methods.

    Despite all the advantages mentioned in relation to the waterjet device, this device also has disadvantages, for example, its high price. The cost of working with waterjet is also high. As a result, contractors and employers are less likely to use the device in construction operations.

    Other disadvantages of this device include its limitations. Because waterjet is only involved in cutting surfaces and in large projects and cannot be used in small or medium jobs.

    This machine uses concrete to cut concrete, but in some methods, it is cut when iron hits the concrete and causes noise pollution. But this will not be the case in water jets.

 

3. Cutting concrete by wire

 

In this method, a diamond wire machine is used to cut concrete. The wires inside this device are made of high carbon alloys, which are called diamonds.

In this method, the speed is high because the fineness of the wires is high, and this increases the speed of concrete cutting.

 

How to use this machine is so easy that to cut concrete, we first make a hole on both sides of the concrete and then pass a wire through these two holes.

By turning on the machine, the concrete will cut. This device, like other devices, has advantages and disadvantages that we will examine in the following:

 

    In this method, the working speed is very high and the reason is that the blade of the device is wired.

    One of the significant advantages of this machine is that the concrete is cut into a mold and the work is very clean.

    The accuracy of using the diamond wire machine is very high so that other parts of the concrete are not damaged.

    This machine, like other mentioned machines, has limitations and cannot be used in cutting concrete floors.

    Another disadvantage of this product is its high price.

 

Advantages and disadvantages of using a Carter machine

 

1. This device is very suitable for slabs that are thin.

 

2. Carter machine is more suitable for cutting in small sizes.

 

3. This versatile device is also suitable for concrete floors.

 

4. Also another advantage of this device compared to other methods is that it costs less and has a lower price. Today, contractors and most employers are looking for cheapness with quality, which is why it is very cost-effective to use a Carter machine.

5. If the concrete is very thick, you cannot use the Carter machine to cut it, and this is one of the disadvantages of this machine.

 

6. Also, this machine has limitations, i.e. it is only suitable for cutting concrete on floors and is not very useful for cutting on walls or columns.

 

7. If we want to compare the cutter device with other devices such as waterjet and wire; it should be said that the cutter speed is slower than other devices.
